I joined Spaulding Ridge as CFO in November after a long career leading finance teams across a range of organizations and operating environments. While each role has been rewarding, this one feels different in the best possible way.
Finance is evolving at an exceptional pace. The expectations placed on CFOs and finance teams today are vastly different from what they were even a decade ago. While reporting, controls, and historical analysis are still the foundational blocks of any high-performing finance team, today’s finance organizations must be strategic partners, shaping decisions and driving growth, efficiency, and long-term value.
As that evolution continues, there is no place I would rather be than Spaulding Ridge.
A Business Aligned with My Passion
Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping CFOs and their teams make technology and operational investments that directly support business strategies and measurable outcomes. The goal has always been to enable finance organizations to operate as true strategic partners to the business at scale.
Today, data, analytics, and AI increasingly fall under the CFO’s responsibility. Finance leaders are being asked not only to steward financial performance, but also to harness enterprise data, guide intelligent automation, and ensure insights are trusted, timely, and actionable. This shift requires CFOs and finance teams to continuously adapt by expanding their skill sets, rethinking operating models, and embracing new ways of working.
When finance teams have the right tools and the confidence to use them effectively, they can elevate the entire organization. They move faster, see further, and deliver insights that go well beyond the numbers. This is precisely what Spaulding Ridge helps its clients achieve every day, and it’s a mission I deeply believe in.
Investing in the Spaulding Ridge Finance Team
Internally, I couldn’t be more excited about the finance team at Spaulding Ridge. It is a group filled with exceptional talent and even greater potential, bringing together a mix of newer team members and longer-tenured individuals. Some are career finance professionals, while others entered the discipline through different paths, creating a healthy diversity of perspectives. What unites the team is a shared curiosity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for approaching work in new and innovative ways.
What I enjoy most in my role as a leader is teaching. Helping teams evolve from a strong finance function into a trusted voice at the decision-making table is especially rewarding. Finance has access to vast amounts of data, but turning that data into meaningful, business-driving insights takes time, practice, some mistakes, and guidance.
My goal is to accelerate our finance team’s journey, so we model the same strategic finance mindset we help our clients achieve. We will focus on strengthening our use of a powerful suite of tools, including Oracle NetSuite, Anaplan, Salesforce, and Snowflake. In the year ahead, we will modernize how we operate by embracing AI-enabled processes, improving how we leverage data, and strengthening the partnership between finance and the broader business. This focus will ensure our finance organization remains forward-looking, scalable, and aligned with where the market is headed.
The People Behind the Firm
Another major reason I joined Spaulding Ridge is the people. I have known some members of this team for more than 15 years and have met many more along the way. I have been a client, an employee, and, most importantly, a friend and colleague.
Every Spaulding Ridge event I attended over the years left a consistent impression. The people are intelligent, dedicated, and genuinely care about their work and each other. The energy, commitment, and shared sense of purpose stood out each time. That kind of culture is rare, and the opportunity to work alongside such an engaged and driven team is incredibly compelling.
Values That Set Us Apart
At the end of the day, all business is personal. Throughout my career, I’ve learned the most impactful decisions are not based solely on technical capability, but on trust, relationships, and the people you work with every day.
Technical competence is a baseline expectation in our industry. What truly distinguishes great GSIs is a team that pairs competence with integrity, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to doing the right thing. Spaulding Ridge embodies those values, and they remain our greatest strength.
I’m proud to be here, excited about what lies ahead, and grateful to be part of a firm that aligns closely with my views on finance, leadership, and business. As finance continues to evolve, I’m energized by the opportunity to help shape how we grow, lead, and deliver value for our clients.
